Hello and yes it's been a while!
After being on the road quite a bit this year I am home for the summer and decided to upgrade my studio in order to give my clients an even BETTER product! I took the plunge and bought the Universal Audio Apollo 8p Digital Interface AND I got a brand spankin' new iMAC with an SSD Internal HD. Both units are completely stellar and I could not be happier. The sounds I'm getting are simply beautiful, not that I wasn't getting great sounds before BUT this is a markedly awesome upgrade. I created a page entitled STUDIO on my site so please feel free to peruse and hear some examples of my work that I've done for clients. The other news is that I've been singing more! I did a show this past Saturday at my old haunting grounds called Santé in beautiful Solvang, CA. The crowd was fantastic and it was PACKED! AND this coming Sunday, 4/29/18 (6-9PM), I'm making my Los Angeles singing debut at The MIXX in Pasadena. It promises to be a fun gig and they serve incredible food & drink so if you're in the area please come and hang! The MIXX 443 E Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91101 (626) 500-0021. I also have another podcast that is up so be sure to check out the All Over The Map page. And don't forget that you can subscribe to my podcast on iTunes, itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/all-over-the-map/id996286878?mt=2 and also on Podbean, https://alloverthemap.podbean.com/. And that's all for now. Thanks so much for stopping by!

So as I sit in my lovely abode I look up at the calendar only to realize that in ten days I'll be another year older. Life DOES go by quicker as one gets older but there are many rewards. It seems crazy that thirty plus years have gone by and that I have been what I can actually call a professional musician during most of that time. (For about two months believe it or not in the early 90s I sold calling cards and yes I was terrible at it). Now mind you not all of the gigs I did were shall we say, ideal and every musician out there knows exactly what I'm about talking about but at this point in my life I am playing and recording with some of the best musicians that I can recall. I don't for one minute take for granted the opportunities I've been given. Speaking of opportunities...
This past December marked my eleventh year doing the annual run at the Cafe Carlyle in NYC. It's always great being in "The City" during the Holidays seeing friends and family AND getting paid for it! While in NY I also recorded drums and percussion for vocalist Abigail Rockwell. Her CD should be out in a few months. Back in La La Land (no relation to the movie), a couple of weeks ago I was asked to play a track on singer/composer Mark Winkler's upcoming release. That was a great thrill because it has some of my drumming heroes on it including famed Jazz Master Jeff Hamilton and the ever amazing Michael Shapiro. Next week Steve Tyrell and us Boys play at our "home away from home" Catalina Jazz Club for our bi-annual stint. I'll be posting more dates as they come along so please keep a lookout on the SCHEDULE page. AND (if you're lucky), I may even get another podcast in there during the next couple of weeks. Thanks for stopping by! Kevin Finally! Well it took a few months but the new website is up and running. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out and I hope you find it fun, informative and easy to navigate.
The latest cool news would be that Steve Tyrell and us boys just got back from lovely Italia! It was definitely one for the books. We were treated like royalty by the fine folks at www.monteverdituscany.com and had to sadly spend most of our time in beautiful Tuscany. I know, I know-somebody's gotta do it. Also we had plenty of time off to do some serious site seeing and I think I gained about six pounds from all of the delicious food. In about a month I go once again to NYC for our annual month-long run at the Carlyle Hotel. This will be my tenth year in a row and it's always a blast spending that length of time in such an incredible city. As trips progress I will be posting more pics on the PHOTOS page so be sure to look for that. Also within a couple of weeks there should be a new ALL OVER THE MAP podcast episode up and running! Thanks again for stopping by and please feel free to comment below. Kevin Well, as you all can see I'm working on completely redesigning my website. It's taken quite a lot of hours but I hope you enjoy the new layout and content. Please feel to leave a comment on what you think and I'm certainly open to suggestions. Thanks for stopping by!
Oh. and don't forget to subscribe to our (with Lyman Medeiros and yours truly), podcast ALL OVER THE MAP! "It's better than you think". |
